Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) offers a comprehensive range of mail services to meet your domestic and international mailing needs. From cost-effective letter deliveries to specialized parcel services, MPC ensures secure, reliable, and timely mail handling.

Send letters and documents both locally and internationally at affordable rates. Ordinary Mail is a standard service that follows set delivery timelines, and postage is determined the weight (0–2kg) and destination. Please note, that Ordinary Mail does not offer tracking services.

For valuable documents requiring proof of mailing or delivery, Registered Mail offers enhanced security with tracking. The recipient must sign upon delivery, and items are stored for up to 30 days at the Post Office before being returned if unclaimed. Registered Mail can handle items weighing between 0 to 2kg.

For businesses handling large volumes of mail, franking machines offer a convenient alternative to stamps. These machines provide a pre-set postage amount, making mailing quicker and more efficient.

EMS provides fast, priority mail service for documents and merchandise up to 20kg, with reliable door-to-door delivery. Available both domestically and internationally (to over 157 countries), EMS is ideal for time-sensitive deliveries. Customers must provide accurate physical addresses including zip code and contact details for seamless delivery.

Prohibited/Restricted items include: live animals, explosives, money, precious minerals, plants, drugs, alcohol, liquids, sharp objects and other restricted materials.

Send larger items of 2 to 30Kg with MPC’s Parcel Service.  Delivery times are slightly longer than letter post.  Tracking and proof of mailing is available for all parcels. Prices vary based on weight and destination.

Small Packets: For imported items arriving in Malawi, Malawi Posts Corporationprovides a reliable and efficient delivery service. Once an imported item is received, MPC handles the customs clearance process and ensures the item is safely delivered to the recipient.

Handling Fees:

  • For non-dutiable items, a handling fee of MK2,000 applies.
  • For dutiable items, a handling fee of MK4,000 applies.
  • Tracking and Notification: MPC provides tracking services, allowing customers to monitor the progress of their delivery. Once the item clears customs, customers are notified via SMS or a phone call  to collect their item from the a post office.
